Our Story of home security systems
Founded in 1974 in Louisville, Kentucky by Charles "Chuck" and Emma Lou Cissell, serving the Louisville, Kentucky Metro Area and Southern Indiana, the "Kentuckiana" area. Chuck entered the alarm business by reading about a series of burglaries in the newspaper. His curiosity led him to stop at Rueff Lighting electrical supplies on Broadway in Louisville to inquire about burglar alarms. The sales representative spent some time with him explaining how they worked and how to install them. During the conversation someone called in about purchasing a burglar alarm and the Rueff representative gave Chuck the information which led to his first customer and Kentuckiana Alarms was born. After a few years, Chuck began to get a lot of business from Southern Kentucky and made the decision to relocate his family and his business to London, Kentucky in 1980. It is here that continued to quietly grow his business and serve Laurel, Whitley, Knox, Jackson, and Clay Counties.
The business is now being operated by the next generation, son-in-law, Patrick O'Bryan is the CEO. Patrick started with the business while still in college in 1986 and along with Chris Smith who joined in 1995 strive to maintain the same high standards as the founder.
